Before you attempt to replace the front seal your self you should keep in mind that a front transmission leak can be caused by
more then just the seal. Once the transmission is removed you should first inspect the neck of the torque converter. If the pump bushing
or seal has scored this surface the converter should be replaced. The pump should be then removed from the case using the proper procedure
and split. Inspect the bushing for wear and the check the pump plate for grooves which can reduce pump pressure. In most cases beside the seal
you will need a new bushing, pump gasket and O-ring. Some transmissions have updated parts such as hardened pump slide kits and kits to
correct low line pressure.. TRANSTAR rebuild kits are used by many professionals and are available at many parts stores.Keep in mind that
reassembly requires you have specifications such as bolt torque values and band adjustment proceedures. If you don't have a manual get one
before you get started.
