I have a manual body turbo-350 that Art Carr built....it worked great and shifted fine for over 6 months....the jeep sat for about 5 months...now it has a ton of play in the shifting mechanisim....set up as follows...P R N 1 2 3....I put it in reverse and it wont go until it gets to almost 1... 1st is 2nd and 2nd is 3rd....cant get into 3rd using the shifter....going back to park it is exactly opposit....get to nearly N when it shifts from 2 to first, so and so on...so a simple adjustment to the linkage does not work.

fluid level is fine....when I take the cable off I can get through all the gears....seams like there is too much stroke on the shifting mecahnaism on the tranny for the shifter to handle

so what to do?
