K, so the inspection of the non OEM wiring revealed the thing had been rewired, not modified. However, I did find that the wires running to the pulse generator had gotten caught underneath a motor mount and severed.

A little solder and shrink tubing and she was shifting like a dream.

Now my question is, what the heck is a pulse generator, when I asked at the dealership, he said he thought it plugged into the Flux Capacitor, which I'm a little doubtful of.
