I have a 96 Ford Taurus. About 1 month ago when my daughter came to a stop and tried to proceed the car would not go out of first gear. So she turtled forward till she got to her church. (two blocks) I told her to get it home before dark so she drove it for about 12 miles. It would catch into the other gears but just not immediately. The next day I checked the tranny fluid level and had to add approx. 3 containers. After this it ran like brand new. Well here we are again and it is having the same problem. She now has my car but I need to know what to search next. I dont want to spend much money. Unemployed three months and will need my car when I go back to work. HELP.
