Subaru Transmission Trouble

I have a 2004 subaru wrx automatic transmission(awd). It recently started acting up when the car was cold, it wouldnt shift into gear, or when it did, it wouldnt shift out of first. Then after it warmed up, it would drive fine. A local subaru trans. expert told me I needed to have a transmission flush. I did and now it starts working fine when cold. But now when it goes to shift from 2nd to 3rd or 3rd to 4th it lags a little bit, or revs high, then shifts hard. I was wondering what you think this might be, what needs to be fixed, and a ballpark repair figure. Thanks for any help and God bless!
