I have been given different advice about how to check the ATF level on my automatic Mazda. Can you please tll me if I have got EXACTLY right now? 1. Warm up the ATF with a 5 minute drive. 2. Park on level ground. 3. Put the selector in 'Park'. 4. Leave the engine running. 5. Slowly move the selector through the gears. 6. Keep the engine running and remove the ATF dipstick. 7. Check the fluid level on the dipstick. 8. Switch the engine off and top up if needed, to the 'full' level on the dipstick. 9. If the level is too high, drain some out. 10. Also check the clour of the fluid, it should be clear red or red, not dark. 11. Also rub the fluid between your fingers to check if it feels gritty. 12. Check the fluid doesn't smell burnt. Thank you for any advice!
